Helpful Winter Plumbing Tips

Posted by Administrator : Monday 25th November 2013

During the winter period we enjoy visits from our friends and family. Although you love your friendly plumber and/or heating engineer, we don’t enjoy having emergency plumbing, boiler or heating calls.

Please find a few helpful tips to keep your winter festivities and pipes running:

Oil and Grease: Keep drains free of oil and grease. Ensure that you scrape food and grease from plates into the bin not the sink. Pour off cooking grease from pans into a can. Allow it cool before placing it in the bin, do not put in down the sink.

Unflushables: We say this time and time again, please beware of the unflushables. Cleaning wipes, facial wipes, baby wipes, toilet bowel cleaning pads, diapers, dental floss and condoms should be disposed in the bin. When flushed they can hang up on roots in sewer lines and cause blockages or burst pipes.

We hope you found this article useful. If the worst does occur over the winter time, we have local engineers, local plumbers and local boiler experts based across the whole of east London including Stepney, Homerton, Highbury, East Ham, Bow and Hackney.
